The Ocean Golf Course in Vale do Lobo is a sister course to the Royal. The name of this course is appropriately suggesting is enviable location. As an older golf course it had a strong influence in placing the Algarve as a destination in the golfing world. The fairways have a tendency to be narrow and accuracy is imperative when playing. The Ocean Golf Course holes wander through pine trees with wonderful views of the sea between the homes lining the sides of the fairways. Some of the holes take you along the cliff top with the blue Atlantic sea as the backdrop.

Nice course - Greens need work

Played in the Sunset rate which was good value. The course looks great from first glance. However the greens are not in good condition. A lot of pitch marks not repaired and very sandy bumpy surface. A lot of divots on the fairways not repaired or filled. The staff are lovely on the course and in the shops

course in good condition. we took a buggy but very restricted where you can go and it is almost more trouble than it’s worth. Not my favourite lay out either. Too many steep slopes. And quite overpriced.

The course itself is realy fine. No problems with that. I play the Vale di Lobo courses already about 20 years. Since this year they have this GPS protection system. You can hardly drive 50% of the fairways and they charge the same amount as before. So I wont play Vake do Lobo anymore!
